MEMOIRS OF WATER

memoirs of water is a visual meditation on origin, memory and the invisible forces that shape all life.
everything on earth begins in water. the human body, like the oceans, is made mostly of it. in this painting a waterfall flows through a landscape that also resembles a body, a strand of DNA, and an inner world.
the water becomes a symbol of the eternal flow = the continuous movement of birth, transformation, loss, and renewal.
in many ancient cultures, water was understood not just as matter, but as memory.
Indigenous traditions across the world still speak of rivers and falls as living archives that carry the stories of everything that has ever touched them. in polynesian and hawaiian traditions, water is not only a natural element, it is a living presence, believed to carry the stories of all it has touched: mountains and bodies, lands and emotions, generations and dreams.
rain, rivers, mist, oceans, and tears are understood as different expressions of the same consciousness.
each form holds its own mood and history: rain carrying renewal, rivers remembering their long journeys, the ocean holding the paths of those who crossed it, and tears carrying what the heart can no longer keep inside. nothing is lost – it simply changes shape.

The glowing horizon in this painting suggests the Moon, a quiet but powerful force. Across cultures, the Moon was seen as the guardian of water and the rhythm of the soul. It moves the tides of the oceans and for thousands of years people believed it also moved the tides within the human body: emotions, dreams, menstruation, and birth. In this painting the Moon gently interacts with the falling water, just as unseen forces shape our inner lives.
The plants and organic forms resemble roots, nerves, and cell structures. They blur the boundary between landscape and body, reminding us that we are not separate from nature -> we are made of it. Our DNA, like rivers, carries information forward through time, holding memories far older than our individual lives.

Memoirs of Water speaks to a time in which many people feel disconnected from each other, and from the Earth. This work offers to dive into a world in which everything flows together, held inside one living system.
It is an invitation to remember that beneath all differences, we come from the same source and we are still moving together inside the same eternal stream.
